Adopting A Safety Culture At All Levels Of Your Organization

Safety first! If risk to employee injury is not addressed other critical business performance measures in the Warehouse will be negatively impacted. Effective risk controls (pre and post injury) can have far reaching human resource and business implications. This important class lays out the components of a proven process that has driven reduced injury frequency and cost thus supporting overall expense reduction and productivity enhancement efforts.

Jim Koskan - Corporate Director Risk Control
SUPERVALU, INC.

Jim is the Corporate Director of Risk Control for the SUPERVALU supply chain operations. He has responsibility to direct initiatives designed to reduce exposure to and frequency / severity of; customer, employee, fire, security and environmental risk exposures for SUPERVALU'S supply chain operations. Before joining SUPERVALU Jim worked as a Risk Control Services consultant in the insurance industry. Jim has a Masters Degree in Risk Control Management from the University of Wisconsin, and holds the Certified Safety Professional and Associate in Loss Control Management Certifications. Jim was a member of the State of Minnesota's Ergonomic Task Force, the Food Marketing Associations Voluntary Ergonomic Guidelines Committee, the Federal OSHA National Advisory Committee on Ergonomics, and was a member of a Grocery Industry Committee that developed the industries first validated Physical Capacities Evaluation tool for order selectors. Jim is also a member of the NIOSH Wholesale and Retail Trade sector council, a member of the University of Minnesota's Occupational Health Services Research & Policy Review Board and a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
