Jack Nicholas, Jr., P.E. -
|
Jack Nicholas, Jr. is an expert in predictive maintenance and reliability. He has produced many books, magazine articles, training courses, workshops and professional papers on a wide variety of maintenance and reliability subjects and has contributed extensively to texts written and edited by others prominent in these fields.
Nicholas has been involved with predictive, condition monitoring program and equipment research, development and application since 1971 when he began his career as a civilian engineer with the U.S. Navy's Submarine Monitoring, Maintenance and Support Office (SMMSO). During his tenure at SMMSO Nicholas oversaw the introduction of RCM and predictive maintenance to many programs over his 17 years there, as he eventually rose to Deputy Manager of the SMMSO, the senior civilian position. In the 13+ years since retiring from government service, he has been advisor, teacher and consultant in the fields of reliability, predictive condition monitoring, root cause analysis, maintenance culture change and advanced maintenance process analysis in Australia, Canada, Republic of China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States. He has performed work for many U.S. government agencies (DOD, DOE, DOT, NRC), Electric Power Research Institute, utilities and manufacturing firms, including aluminum and steel producers.
Nicholas is founder of PdMA Corporation in Tampa, Florida and co-founder (in 1997) of Maintenance Quality Systems LLC.
