John Hayes began his career in the Automated Guided Vehicle industry in 1993 at IDAB (an automation supplier to the Newspaper industry) after departing the United States Marine Corps. Working as an electrical technician and system installer at IDAB John learned the fundamentals of AGVs from the ground up. After a short period away from the AGV industry John again returned and has since been System Sales Manager at AGV Products, Industry Sales Manager at FMC, Vice President of Sales at Egemin Automation, and is currently Sales Manager at HK Systems, AGV Division.

Ken Desloges - Maintenance Manager
Canadian Tire Distribution

Canadian Tire built the state of the art A.J. Billes Distribution Center in Brampton Ontario in 1991. During the last 17 years as Maintenance Manager for this facility, Ken is responsibile for the maintenance of a 1.3 million square foot DC that houses over 15.6 miles of conveyor, 2 miles of towline, over 170 pieces of material handling vehicles, ten 100 ft automated storage and retrieval cranes that serve 78,000 locations. With operational demands increasing since opening, Ken as ensured A.J. Billes is still on the cutting edge of technology, installing and upgrading existing equipment while utilizing the latest advances to meet present and future demands in Supply Chain. With over 35 years of experience in the maintenance field spanning a variety of industries, Ken has always embraced and championed the use of new technology. Staying current is not only necessary but a critical component of any proactive maintenance, material handling and business model. His department won the 2006 Plant Engineering and Maintenance award for world class maintenance excellence.

Moataz Eldib began his career in material handling and warehouse systems with Hyster Company. Beginning with design engineering responsibility for the automated material handling division at Hyster Company followed by positions in sales and marketing management. Moataz has over 15 years of experience working with warehouse and distribution center equipment and applications, particularly very narrow aisle and high density storage systems as well as integrating automated guided vehicles into conventional warehouses.
