Contemporary vision systems are now affordable, repeatable and at home in the DC. With capabilities far beyond barcode and RFID, imaging can both identify material as well as augment tracking, cubing, sorting, human movement, pallet building, robotic picking and more. This update will open your eyes to the merits of vision and may inspire an application or two.

Jim Anderson is the Machine Vision Product Manager at SICK, a leader in creating automation solutions for factory and logistics automation. Mr. Anderson is responsible for all machine vision products in the North American market, including the companys line of 2D and 3D Smart Cameras, streaming 3D cameras, and vision sensors. He is a frequent speaker on vision-related topics at industry conferences and events. He has a wealth of experience in providing machine vision solutions for end users and machine builders, including more than 8 years in engineering, product management, and training. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.
