Automated Library System Support Needs
Tuesday, September 15th : 4:45pm - 5:30pm
Most engineers can't navigate the Dewey Decimal System...and most librarians can't maintain ALS equipment. This important session provides a plain English overview of the care and feeding requirements of Automated Library Equipment. There are several alternative strategies for remedial and preventative maintenance that will be discussed and compared. The attendee will leave with a working knowledge of maintenance requirements and be able to develop a lasting support strategy.

James Swensen - Project Manager
HK Systems

James Swensen has over 18 years of equipment and building maintenance service experience. Throughout his career, he has worked in North America and Asia; during this time he put into place and developed maintenance management systems and processes. He has assisted in the utilization of such systems in many organizations in various fields.

James currently works for the Outsourced Maintenance group for HK Systems. He has contributed to the development of condition based monitoring (CBM) processes that are currently being utilized at numerous HK Systems outsourced sites. He also ensures that HK Systems is utilizing the latest CBM and predictive maintenance techniques that are available in the market place. He is also heading up HK Systems CMMS (computerized maintenance management system). He is also highly involved with thermography, vibration analysis, and oil testing at HK Systems.
