Automated Library Systems 101

This session focuses on the terms, design criteria, and processes associated with justifying, designing and deploying an Automated Library System as a part of a library. The session will cover a variety of topics including: collection analysis, system size, construction, structural considerations, software interfaces, and budgetary estimates.

Tom Steininger - Senior Solution Consultant

Tom Steininger has been in the material handling industry for over 25 years with experience focusing on system design and implementation of material handling systems. In his current role as a Senior Solution Consultant, he is involved in the design of highly integrated solutions consisting of ASRS, AGV, general construction, gantries, carousels, and a variety of conveyor solutions. In the automated library arena, Tom has been involved in the design of several systems for University Libraries throughout the United States, as well as in Canada and Australia.
